Zugerberg-Weg

The journey from the town of Zug into the open countryside takes just eight minutes. The Zugerberg circuit through the high moorlands offers much more than just a phenomenal view of the town, Lake Zug, and the surrounding mountain landscape.
A short hike though the enchanting winter landscape on the Zugerberg is especially atmospheric. The panoramic round trip takes you from the Zugerbergbahn funicular railway to the Buschenchäppeli, which is about halfway along the route and where you can stop for a bite at the restaurant after visiting the beautiful chapel. The hike leads through the extensive high moorlands to the southeast, where there is plenty for nature-lovers to discover. Not far from the hustle and bustle in the town of Zug, the Zugerberg boasts peace, nature, and a magnificent panorama.

On the way back, partly through snow-covered woodlands, you will pass Schattwäldli, a large children's playground, which offers another opportunity to take a break. Back at the Zugerbergbahn funicular railway, it is recommended to reward yourself with a break in the Zugerberg Restaurant. From there you can once again enjoy the magnificent view over the town and Lake Zug, as well as the surrounding mountains. After a warming punch or a hot soup on the panoramic terrace, the train will take you back down into the town in comfort.
