Moosfluh-Riederalp-Weg
Riederalp, Moosfluh–Riederfurka–Riederalp
The fabulous view of the Aletsch Glacier is just one of the reasons for choosing this popular route. It follows Härdernagrat with constant views of the fascinating Alpine landscape of the UNESCO world heritage site. The Victorian-style Villa Cassel, located on the way to Riederalp, is another amazing sight.
From Riederalp you take a cable car to Moosfluh, one of the three breathtaking viewpoints in the Aletsch Arena. Enjoy the stunning view of the mighty Aletsch Glacier and Valais’s densely snowcapped peaks before heading west.
Then head down along the ridge towards Breitebode. From there, the winter hiking trail follows the Härdernagrat up to the upper station of the Hohfluh ski lift. Hikers can continue to enjoy the panoramic view as they progress into the next section, with the unique natural landscape of the UNESCO World Heritage site on their right and Valais’s majestic four-thousanders on their left. The path heads down to Riederfurka where you will pass alongside the impressive Villa Cassel, which is closed during the winter months.
In the final stage, the path leads gently down to Riederalp (around a 30-minute walk).
