Chemin Cry d’Er–Crans
Crans-Montana, Cry d’Er–Crans-Montana, Crans
After reaching Cry d’Er by cable car, this downhill hike takes you to the centre of Crans. The highlights of this hike are undeniably the omnipresent fantastic view and the sunny terraces along the way.
Take the cable car to Cry d'Er, where you can visit the «Cry d'Er Club d’altitude» and its restaurant, whose lively terrace offers you a fantastic view of the Alps. Head down in the direction of Chetzeron; right from the start of the hike you’ll encounter the skiers with whom you’ll share a part of the route. On your right you'll see Lac de Tseuzier, an artificial lake formed by the Rawyl dam, whose water is used for the production of electricity in the region.
You’ll then notice Hôtel Chetzeron, a handsome building located in an old cable car station which has been tastefully redesigned. The terrace here offers a magnificent view of the region’s 4,000m peaks.
Continue your descent to Merbé, the middle station of the Cry d’Er cable car (here you could cut the walk short by taking the cable car back down to the bottom). Continuing on your way, you’ll reach the Lac de Chermignon, where there are several picnic spots. The walk ends when you arrive in the centre of Crans.
