Nationalpark-Panoramaweg

The Nationalpark- Panoramaweg lets you venture through a variety of fascinating landscapes, while at the same time providing an insight into three differing cultural regions. Actually a hike through an international park.
Those who want to visit the National Park region between the Lower Engadine and the Val Müstair do so quite deliberately. It lies concealed and isolated in the southernmost tip of Switzerland, even if the Vereina Tunnel now makes access a little easier.
Hikers enjoy a ramble through a natural world full of variety and romantic beauty that is very hard to beat. Mountain trails cut into the rocks of the Uinaschlucht gorge contrast with tranquil valley walks in the Val Müstair, steep ascents into the wild Val Cluozza contrast with gentle strolls across the top of the Ofen Pass, larch forests between Zernez and Lavin contrast with turquoise mountain lakes on the Sesvennapass. You repeatedly touch on the Swiss National Park region – when it gets steep and wild, when you can’t leave the trail and resting places are clearly fenced in with thick posts.
The route also offers a number of highlights in cultural and historical terms. The Minieras da Fiern on Munt Buffalora serve as a reminder of mining times long past. The attractive Engadine homes in Zernez and Lavin, often provided with beautiful mural decorations, have their own special charm.
And what could be more perfect than a few pines and Swiss Arven trees sticking out of high-mountain meadows to enjoy the peace and solitude of the Alpine landscape, which is often surrounded by snow-covered peaks. In the autumn, the golden larch trees reflected in the clear mountain lakes make the scenery picture-perfect.
