Cycling in Switzerland
Cycles and public transport

On the move, by train and bike.
Take your bike on your travels: With a bike ticket you can load bicycles into most SBB trains yourself. Depending on traffic volume – especially in good weather – there may be a shortage of transport capacity for the self-service loading of bicycles on some routes. In this case, bicycle shipping, for instance, is a good alternative.
Your best bet is to plan your journey in good time in advance: sbb.ch/en/bicycle.

Cycle and PostBus»
Planning on discovering Switzerland by bike? Here you will find important bicycle carry-on information for Postbuses.
You may take your bicycle with you on Postbuses providing there is sufficient space available and you do not obstruct passengers from getting on or off the vehicle. During the summer season, Postbuses travelling on most tourist routes are equipped with bike racks at the back of the bus. The cyclist must have a valid ticket and remain with the bicycle for the duration of the trip.
