Hemberg–Salomonstempel Trail

Hemberg–Salomonstempel Trail

Tranquillity and a mystical atmosphere await the winter sportsmen on this circular tour through the woods and the moor landscape around Salomonstempel. The soft landscape is both inviting snowshoe beginners as well as advanced nature lovers.
The circular round also suitable for beginners, starts in the picturesque village Hemberg. Although it is for sure not highly Alpine, the region is astonishingly snowy.

From Oberdorf the trail leads over soft hills up to Salomonstempel and goes through the fascinating landscape of the nature reserve. Here is no temple in the closer sense, but those having an eye for mystical beauty, will realise that this name is fitting quite well. Little forests and clearings alternate and on Kellen-Bendel there is a view to the Churfirsten mointain range, whose seven summits paint an impressive line to the horizon. In the upland moor Kellen individual birches and the reed, which lines the frozen ponds, are forming magical motifs.

On the way back the mountain station of the ski lift in Hemberg is passed. Along the way down to Hemberg there are again wonderful views to the Säntis massif and the hill landscape of Neckertal.
