Parcours Saignelégier–Etang des Royes

Résumé This snowshoeing excursion almost immediately immerses you in the charming scenery of the Franches-Montagnes. Midway through, you reach the Etang des Royes lake, which is an exceptional natural site with a beautiful clearing. It's ideal if you want to take a short break.
From Saignelégier Leisure Centre and after a small hill, this snowshoe expedition path quickly weaves its way through the distinctive and magical scenery of the Franches-Montagnes region. In this area, it's the pine trees that reign supreme.

After just over two kilometres, the Etang des Royes lake comes into sight and provides an opportunity to stop for a breath. This area invites you to escape and pause for a moment to take in the scenery. Even when it is covered in snow, this natural site is filled with serenity. It is reminiscent of the far North and is surrounded by peatland.

The next stage of the course is clearer and more sunlit. Pastures and a few isolated farms emerge along the track. At the end of the course, you have to go through a small forest and then you'll see the steam rising from the outdoor spa at the Leisure Centre...quite the invitation!
