Twäregg Trail

Unique snowshoe tour up to the Twäregg. The reward is an all-round panoramic view of the Mythen, Rigi, Brisen and Lake Lucerne.
A perfect view of the lake and mountains: even non-skiers can enjoy the Klewenalp-Stockhütte snow paradise to the full. The unique panorama in Nidwalden’s biggest winter sports area is especially impressive when enjoyed on a snowshoe tour. The winter trails in the area are well above the valley mist and provide opportunities for both short and long walks.

The Twäregg Trail starts at Klewenalp mountain station (1600 m above sea level), leading initially towards the PANORAMAschneebar and then along the marked snowshoe trail up to the Twäregg. The Twäregg is a gem of a look-out point that offers a magnificent panorama: the sea of mist over Lake Lucerne, the two Mythen, Rigi, Oberbauenstock, the Brisen and many other snow-topped mountains can be admired in fine weather.

From the Twäregg you can walk down to Stockhütte, but it is also possible to return to the Klewenalp on the Ängi chairlift to the PANORAMAschneebar. Here you can enjoy yet another breathtaking view of Central Switzerland to finish off.
