Furggelen-Schneeschuhtrail
Brunni–Furggelen–Brunni, Holzegg
This snowshoe hike crosses remote yet busy areas, overseen in silence by the two Mythen peaks. It's well worth stopping along the way to admire the magnificent views of the Schwyz mountains and landscape.
At the start in Brunni, the mighty Grosser Mythen is impossible to overlook. Hikers head uphill through silent natural surroundings, at times across open terrain, then through woodlands. The path via Alp Furggelen brings them to the highest point on the tour: the Furggelenstock. Thanks to the panoramic maps at the lookout point, it's easy to identify all the peaks of the Ybrig region and the Muotathal mountains.
From here, the descent towards Zwäcken passes through the middle of the Mythenregion skiing area and towards Holzegg on wide winter trails. With the Grosser Mythen right in front of them, hikers have to tilt their heads back to see the summit. Down below, their gaze wanders over the Schwyz basin and Lake Lucerne. They can choose between snowshoes and a cable car for the return journey to Brunni. Back at the starting point, by the bus stop or the car parks, they can take one last look at the Grosser Mythen before heading home.
