Altschen Trail

Altschen Trail

You will especially enjoy the Amden winter wonderland on a snowshoeing tour. This shorter Altschen trail is particularly suitable for beginners. It leads through the Arvenwälder and at its end provides the best view of the Leistkamm.
Amden is located on the sun terrace high above the Walensee. Halfway between the lake and the peaks of the Churfirsten you will find ideal conditions for trips into the winter landscape, far away from the hustle and bustle of the big ski resorts.

If you have never strapped on snowshoes before, you will find that this trail is not too long and not too steep. The easiest and shortest snowshoeing trail in Amden runs from the Arvenbüel up to Schwaderloch via Brittertannen to the Alp Altschen. Beautifully snow-capped Arvenwälder and the frozen Beerenbach will present themselves to you in their most beautiful winter splendour.

Upon reaching the top you will have the best view of the Leistkamm and the surrounding mountains. You can manage the last third at a leisurely pace on the winter hiking trail coming from the Vorder Höhi back to the starting point at Arvenbüel.
