Grimmialp Trail

In the most remote corner of the Diemtigtal Nature Park, alongside gurgling streams and on the home terrain of the gruff forest dwarf Grimmimutz, surrounded by the pointed peaks of the Bernese Oberland. If you’re lucky, an ibex might even appear in your binocular sights.
Your route follows untrodden paths through the dreamlike winter landscape of the Diemtigtal Nature Park. Experience winter from its most enchanting perspective as you move away, step by step, from everyday life.

This circular trail begins at the Senggiweid car park and leads in a gentle ascent to the home of the gruff little forest dweller Grimmimutz. Passing the Nidegg alp hut, the route follows the wildlife observation path through the Nidegg forest to the outlook. With a little luck, you might catch a glimpse of an ibex colony through the telescope installed there.

The descent leads over the snow-covered Nidegg alp meadows back to the starting point. Descending snowshoe hikers are rewarded with wonderful views of the Diemtigtal Nature Park.
