Schlittelweg Mutta Südhang
Feldis, Mutta–Feldis, Sesselbahn
The Feldis-Mutta chairlift is a relaxed and comfortable way to ride high up to the start of the toboggan run – ideal for families, with splendid views of the Domleschg and Heinzenberg peaks and majestic Piz Beverin. Along the way: Alp Raguta with its natural ice rink.
High above the Domleschg castle country, on a sun-drenched terrace 1,500 meters above sea level, is the idyllic mountain village of Feldis. The journey here is already something special: either by mountain road, or from Rhäzüns in a cable car – which soars at heights of up to 200 meters above the Rhine wetlands.
A little way outside of the village, the Feldis-Mutta chairlift carries tobogganers to the starting point. It opens up access to the Feldis Highlands, with a panorama of almost legendary beauty: Piz Beverin, Tödi, Ringelspitz and Calanda are just some of the peaks you can see. Then, right next to the mountain station (1.974 m.a.s.l.) it's "all aboard!" You will toboggan across open terrain, past the Alp Raguta mountain hut. A special feature here: a natural ice rink where you can walk in snowshoes, try your hand at curling or discover ice-stock sport, surrounded by a majestic Alpine panorama.
You pass the Alpine farmhouse of Plaun digls Mats to reach Purfs, where the run changes direction. Before reaching the valley station of the chairlift, it makes two more sharp bends. Along the way, you'll enjoy a series of superb views of the Domleschg. Tip: the toboggan route described here on the southern slope is perfect for families, and a second run on the northern slope takes you down the mountain at a somewhat brisker pace. If snow conditions are good, a very challenging toboggan run also leads down to Domat/Ems.
