Chemin de luge des Marécottes
Les Marécottes, La Creusaz–Les Marécottes
Treat yourself to a breath of fresh air and a long ride on this 5km sledge run that connects the panoramic restaurant of La Creusaz and the village of Les Marécottes. This gentle path criss-crosses the forest.
The start of the run is easily reached by cable car from Les Marécottes. The panorama, which looks over the Rhône Valley and the Mont Blanc massif, is revealed little by little. You will also be able to make out the forest clearing of Planajeur from above. Those with sharp eyes will spot the sledge path that runs through it.
The starting point of the path is located in La Creusaz, a small hamlet situated at 1,777m above sea level, in the heart of the ski area. Charming wooden chalets surround the ski slope and there is a restaurant where you can gather your strength before attacking the 9km descent to the village of Les Marécottes. The track poses no real difficulties and criss-crosses the forest, arriving back at the cable car. In summer, this piste is also used by those descending on kick scooters.
Those wanting more of a challenge may decide to go for a second descent while others will perhaps opt for a more relaxed end to their day by visiting the alpine zoo, which is open all year round.
