Olten Lido
Olten Lido is located at the confluence of the Dünnern and Aare rivers, directly on the banks of the Aare and has a beach area. On hot summer days good swimmers have the option of walking upstream and allowing the current to carry them back down to the lido.
All pools are heated. The lido has a 50-metre pool; a non-swimmer and a paddling pool; three slides and a bathing area with a playground for young children. In addition to the swimming facilities there are also table tennis tables and a number of beach volleyball courts.
Visitors can relax in the spacious lawned sunbathing areas which have shady spaces under trees; on the riverside beach with a view of the Aare’s old wooden bridge or on either of the patios with deckchairs which offer views of the old town and the mouth of the Dünnern or of the lido and beach volleyball courts.
The Palmaares restaurant is open to lido visitors and the general public and offers a wide range of meals; a covered patio and beautiful views across the Aare.
The lido is located directly on No. 5, 8 and 50 cycle routes and is approx. 7 minutes’ walk from the train station.
