St. Gallen Skate
Rorschach–Bischofszell
On a demanding course with about 250 metres height difference, the St. Gallen Skate route passes places of historic importance as well as urban industrial sprawls. It then offers recreation on idyllic sections between urban areas.
St. Gallen Skate route presents a challenge to experienced skaters who enjoy putting their skill to the test. The lake starting point is Rorschach. Some 250 metres height difference lie between the Bodensee and the monastery district of the UNESCO World Heritage in St. Gallen. However, these are spread over several kilometres so that the overall topography doesn’t have to be described as very difficult. A walking section is also integrated into the exciting route and this is also pleasant to cover on skates. One special feature: a long section of the route is «suspended» below the A1 motorway bridge over the Sittertobel.
The new AFG football stadium in St. Gallen-Winkeln will be another attraction. Between the new stadium, Gossau and Oberbüren, the route alternates between a rural idyll on quiet side roads and urban industrial sprawls.
In Bischofszell the St. Gallen Skate route joins the Mittelland Skate route, linking the two national routes.
