Luzernerland Skate
Sursee–Wolhusen
The Luzernerland Skate is suitable for experienced skaters who enjoy historic small towns, stylish squares and sights worth seeing: a cultural programme for adults, less suitable for children.
The Luzernerland Skate leads from Wolhusen to Sursee. The small town of Willisau and the Wauwilermoos lie at its centre. There’s nothing hard for the skater in Willisau except the famous ringli biscuits. Letting them melt on the tongue is an ideal way to tank up on energy while underway! Before moving on, a stroll through the beautiful old town to the building from where Willisauer ringli biscuits originated is well worth it. Today’s café is located between the lower and upper gates.
On the further kilometres towards the north, skaters in the Luzern hinterland can expect excellent cycling paths and side roads leading to the tranquil moorland of the Wauwilermoos. Romantic hamlets and charming cultivated landscape lure you away from everyday routine.
Towards the end, the route leads in a loop around the Mauensee lake with its medieval castle and is the prelude to the gentle descent to the Sempachersee lake. If you still have some Willisau ringli left, you can joyfully devour them in the historic old town of Sursee.
