Bühlberg Trail

Bühlberg Trail

An easy snowshoe hike through snowy mountain forests and across streams, away from any road or ski run. This trail with guaranteed snow leads from Bühlberg through pristine winter scenery with views of the Simmental's mighty peaks.
The bus takes snowshoe hikers comfortably from the Lenk railway station to the start of the signposted trail. From the Bühlberg bus stop, the route begins nearly flat in a north-easterly direction. Trudge across open snowfields towards the sparse forest near Schwandweidli. Along the way, the path crosses snowy streams and lonely forest glades.

Between the trees, a fantastic panorama of the Simmental's snowy giants, including Wildstrubel, Wildhorn and other mighty peaks, unfolds before your eyes. After the Schwandweidlihütte (hut), you are near the wildlife reserve. Please respect the animals and – despite the fresh powder – stay on the signposted route, which leads gently downhill.

On the way back, the route follows a relatively flat summer track. Shortly before Loosegg, the trail branches off to the left and leads back up to Bühlberg through half-open terrain. After your tour in the freezing cold, a refuelling break at the cosy Restaurant Bühlberg is just the ticket.
