Les Mosses

This charming and reputed family resort is located in the heart of the Alps of the Lake Geneva Region at an altitude of 1,450 metres. The Les Mosses - La Lécherette plateau offers a wide range of winter and summer activities and is appreciated by children and adults alike.
Les Mosses draws its name from local jargon ("la mosse” meaning "marshy area”). The village is located in the heart of the Alps of the Lake Geneva Region in close proximity to tourist regions such as Pays d’Enhaut, Gruyère and the Swiss Riviera. It became a place of transit of increasing importance after 1870, which was the year when the practicable road was extended from Le Sépey to Château-d’Oex. Winter sports were introduced in 1936, when the first skiers discovered these magnificent snow fields which some have called a skiing Eldorado. Since then, the Les Mosses – La Lécherette plateau has been constantly developed and today constitutes a region offering a multitude of cultural and sports activities.

Summer

In summer a large network of marked pedestrian and mountain bike trails unveils an intact mountain region and thus fulfils hikers’ and nature enthusiasts’ quest for wide open spaces. Lake Lioson, which is also called "pearl of the Alpine lakes” because of its colour and its beauty, is not only a favourite hiking destination but also greatly appreciated by fishermen.Every Sunday from mid-June to the end of September, the regional second-hand goods market attracts over 50 stallholders and masses of interested people.

Winter

Les Mosses’ privileged location at the top of an important mountain pass is the guarantee for abundant snow. Its ski area is greatly appreciated by families. Espace Nordique offers 42 km of cross-country slopes and 32 km of snowshoeing trails enabling visitors to alternate their practice of winter sports.
