This pass crossing between Neuchâtel and La-Chaux-de-Fonds is a popular winter and summer leisure destination. Activities include hiking, mountain biking and paragliding in summer and downhill and cross-country skiing and snowshoe trekking in winter.
The Vue des Alpes pass summit at an altitude of 1283 metres boasts wonderful views of the surrounding countryside and is the starting point of several hikes. A mountain bike trail covering a distance of 7.3 kilometres circuits the Tête de Ran, which also has a launching ramp for paragliders. It also has hiking trails with views of the Vosges Mountains and the Swiss Alps. Sledging enthusiasts can get their kicks at the 700 metre-long roller-sledge run which operates all year round.
