Pré-Giroud artillery fort
The Pré-Giroud artillery fort in Vallorbe was built and used during the Second World War. Carved out of the rocks, it forms part of our military heritage.
Unique in the Jurassic Arc! The Fort of Vallorbe, which was built from 1937 to 1941, is a typical example of a fortified building of the years preceding World War II. It consists of three autonomous small forts equipped with six casemates with cannons or with machine guns linked to the underground observation posts. There are also ammunition stores, a machine room for 130 soldiers, a surgery room with infirmary, etc...
