Founded in 1958 by Hans Schwarz, the Foundation for the Horse is a retirement home for horses, ponies and donkeys.

The foundation has homes at four different locations (Le Roselet, Le Jeanbrenin, Maison Rouge and Les Murs). Le Roselet station was the first of its kind to open in 1958. Le Roselet and Maison Rouge offer a guided tour for groups (on request) as well as a children's playground and the opportunity to eat. All four sites can be visited free of charge. The restaurants in Le Roselet and Maison Rouge are wheelchair accessible and equipped with disabled WCs.
