Schwyzer Tour

The tour is ideal for exploring and discovering the unspoilt landscape in and around Schwyz. The Schwyz valley basin is surrounded by the rugged Mythen and beautiful Lake Lucerne. And in the heart of this idyllic landscape lies the historic small town of Schwyz.
The tour starts in Brunnen, a former spa town, situated directly on the fjord-like Lake Uri. Shortly after Brunnen, cross the Muota River via the Suworow Bridge.

The ascent to the in the secluded small village of Aufiberg is indeed worth it. There is a breathtaking view of the Schwyz valley basin after the Gibelhorn. The Tschütschi hermitage is nestled in a forest glade at the foot of the Mythen. The tour continues in the direction of Ried and on to Schwyz. This vibrant small town is a lovely surprise due to its wealth of history, culture and tradition. Pictures and short texts on eleven different information boards provide multifaceted information on important village squares, streets and lanes, public buildings, patrician houses, cloisters, churches and chapels.

A picturesque downhill run through the forest and next to «The Swiss Path» takes you back to the lovely town of Brunnen situated directly on the shores of Lake Lucerne. Let your bike rest for a while and treat yourself to an Italian-type ice-cream, a coffee, a swim in the lake or a visit to the unique Victorinox Museum in the town center.

Hints

Tours with an e-mountain bike
The tourism organisations had these routes registered specifically as e-mountain bike routes. Technically, they are not too difficult, no passages where the bike has to be carried, short sections where it needs to be pushed, and doable with one battery charge (max. 1000 -1200 m altitude difference).
