Gafadura-Tour
Schaan–Schaan
The ascent from Schaan up to Gafadurahütte, at 1,400 meters above sea level, is regarded as the most popular bike tour in Liechtenstein. Delights out of the kitchen and a stunning view of the Rhine Valley are the rewards for this perspiring ascent.
The tour from the lively town of Schaan to the remote idyll Alp Gafadura, is for well-trained mountain bikers. At the foot of the majestic, Drei-Schwestern mountain the bikers arrive on a paved road in the Walser village of Planken, which is on a plateau of about 800 m above sea level. After passing the last houses, the road branches off into the cool forest and changes to a gravel road which steadily ascends to the pastures of Alp Gafadura. When reaching your destination, the Gafadurahütte (hut), which is opened from May until October, invites you to come in and rest before heading back down.
There are a lot of bikers riding this path especially during the evenings and at weekends.
