Rellerli Bike
Saanen–Saanen
This tour will take you through traditional Alpine farming regions on the periphery of the Bernese cantonal and linguistic border with French-speaking Switzerland. It simultaneously takes in the entire spectrum of sights, ranging from the quaint village of Abländschen.
The tour starts in the village of Saanen with its narrow roads and alleys, bordered by old timber houses and the St. Maurice Church dating from the 15th century. The first section of the tour leads through the narrow and remote Grischbach valley right to the Mittelberg pass. This marks the direct route into the remote village of Abländschen, which is dominated by the steep high rock faces of the «Gastlosen», also beloved by rock climbers.
Agricultural Alpine farms, termed «Vorschess» in the Saanenland, as well as increasingly more Alpine vegetation now characterise the tour. In clear weather, the view stretches from the Freiburg to the Valais and Bernese Alps. The views soon extend to the green fields and chalets that characterise the broad valley of the Saanenland.

Hint
First part of the single trail descent (towards the Rellerli Mountain Restaurant) is steep and technically demanding. Alternatively, the unsurfaced road from the mountain restaurant in direction to Saanen or Saanenmöser may be taken.
