Appenzell–Rheintal Bike

«Hohe Hirschberg» is center point of this tour - offering stupendous views after a non-too strenuous climb. From here, sweeping views extend from the gentle rolling hills to the Rheintal valley, where a variety of cultural offers await you following a long descent.
Your muscles may have a slightly tough time at the start, but once warmed up you'll enjoy the ride through Möser von Eggerstanden and every inch of the way. Turn your head and absorb amazing views of the entire Alpstein massif behind you before continuing the ride at the heart of hilly landscapes. The constant climb, on through the «Chräzerenwald» woods and up to «Hohen Hirschberg» is well and truly rewarded with a superb view over the Alpstein, as well as great chance to replenish your resources with a bite to eat and drink before the easy bit.

The long descent to the Rheintal valley, which lies around 550 meters below, takes you through the Rebhalde to the historic Altstätten market town where you see and can enjoy a variety of culture and tradition. And getting back to Appenzell is a piece of cake if you opt for Appenzell rail!
