Brunnen Tour
Brunnen–Brunnen
This easy and exciting bike trail offers unforgettable panoramic views from the valley of Schwyz over Lake Lucerne and the surrounding mountains. To relax, Brunnen is also the perfect spot if you want to relax after this roundtrip with its many restaurants directly at the lakefront.
The trail starts next to the historic «Gasthaus Ochsen» in Brunnen. You can see the convent of Ingenbohl whilst driving towards Unter- and Oberschönenbuch. The route takes you uphill on a paved road with little traffic until you reach Schwyzerhöhe, the highest point of this trip. You get a breathtaking view from this spot over the whole Schwyz area and its majestic Mythen-mountains in the background.
Race downhill at high speed to the small town of Morschach and then right uphill again until you reach Axenfels. You will want to take another short break to admire the fantastic view over fjord like Lake Uri with its great surrounding mountains and you will enjoy the panoramic view to the Mount Rigi and Mount Pilatus as well as down to the Rütli meadow, where the Swiss Confederation was founded. You will agree with the painter Alexandre Calame whose placard at the viewpoint describes Schwyz as «Le plus beau pays du monde» («The most beautiful countryside in the world»).
A picturesque downhill run through the forest and next to «The Swiss Path» takes you back to the lovely town of Brunnen situated directly on the shores of Lake Lucerne. Let your bike rest for a while and treat yourself to an Italian-type ice-cream, a coffee, a swim in the lake or a visit to the unique Victorinox Museum in the town center.

Hints
Tours with an e-mountain bike
The tourism organisations had these routes registered specifically as e-mountain bike routes. Technically, they are not too difficult, no passages where the bike has to be carried, short sections where it needs to be pushed, and doable with one battery charge (max. 1000 -1200 m altitude difference).
