Westside Tour

This mountain round tour is pure fun! Starting with a fast-paced ride from Piz Scalottas to the Tgantieni mid-station, then a single trail up and down the high-altitude path to Alp Stätz and all the way to Parpan, down to the valley and past the sparkling Heidsee Lake and back to Lenzerheide.
This tour starts at a leisurely pace: up to Piz Scalottas with two cable cars and views over the Lenzerheide plateau, the Domleschg region and the Albula Valley, and then a fun ride to begin with. The specially designed bike path with a number of switchbacks leads across Alp Scalottas down to the Tgantieni mid-station. The effort is minimal, but the experience is awesome.

The same lift returns to Piz Scalottas, surrounded by Piz Ela, Tinzenhorn and Piz Mitgel. The high path across open terrain to Alp Stätz is a mix of small roads and trails, alternating between downhills and short climbs. But it’s not easy to concentrate on the trail because the fantastic view of the Rothorn and the sparkling Heidsee Lake is quite a distraction.

The exciting downhill, some of which is steep, from Alp Stätz to the former Walser settlement Parpan is bound to make single trail enthusiasts very happy. Down in the valley, the trail leads back to the starting point. Heidsee Lake is located between Valbella and Lenzerheide. This is where the rare felwort plant is found and numerous types of fish are periodically planted, including char, river and rainbow trout. Or how about cooling off with a dip in the water to end the tour? Heidsee Lake gets plenty warm enough in the summer, despite its high-altitude location.
