Chapfensee Bike
Mels–Mels
A wonderful tour for savourers, which leads through desolate protected moors around Lake Chapfen. They are a treasure-trove for botanists and lovers of nature.
From Mels, the route leads to the beautiful hamlet Vermol and through quiet, unspoiled and varied landscapes high above Seeztal and opposite to the plateau of Palfries. The nature reserve around Lake Chapfen, which is said to be rich in fish, fascinates visitors due to its mosaic of forests, meadows and small settlements. Lake Chapfen invites to take a refreshing dip and a fireplace is ideal for barbecuing.
A small footpath through Alpine pastures and via two small creeks connects Mels Hinterberg and Flums-Kleinberg. This route is a pleasure for fans of nature trails and a challenge for every biker to test his/her own driving skills.
The descent from Sässli via Portels down to the creek Seez is a worthy reward for the many metres in altitude that have been overcome beforehand. The route leads back to Mels alongside the idyllic and renaturated creek Seez.
