Göscheneralp Bike
Göschenen–Göschenen
This tour leads you into the wild and fascinating valley of Göscheneralp. Not only does it offer you views of the imposing water dam, but also a wide range of attractive nature experiences with water in «Water worlds».
Shortly after Göschenen, you bike on the so called Jeep track, a very good track with a comfortable ascent along the river of Göschenenreuss. On the mountain road, which winds itself elegantly beneath the wild rock faces, you reach the crest of the impressive dam lake Göscheneralp.
Right underneath the dam lake the restaurant Dammagletscher offers refreshments before you tackle the attractive descent across the dam. After the camping ground Gwüest, there follows a challenging part of track which demands that less experience bikers might have to walk. As an alternative to that, the sealed road to Wiggen can be taken. The exciting descent along the Jeep track then closes the wonderful round tour.
The bike tour, however, is not the only one Göschenen offers. «Water worlds» Göschenen offers a wide range of possibilities for people interested in nature, i.e. hiking along the water track, doing a «Kneipp» cure in the river Dammareuss, having a bath in the «Hotpot», following the track of the ice age glaciers or taking a tour of the dam, to just name a few of the more than 20 options on offer.
