Talboden Bike

This valley of Uri bike tour is recommended for beginners and families and you bear witness to the comprehensive history of the holiday region of Uri. Along the river Reuss you also discover the natural beauty of the Uri valley.
From the train station Altdorf, you follow the Rinächtstrasse all the way to the Reuss bridge in Attinghausen. Here you branch off to the Reuss dam track and bike along the river Reuss to the Reuss bridge in Erstfeld - a first jewel along the way is the place of reflection at the Gotthard motorway service area.

Having crossed over the Reuss bridge, you bike along a minor road, pass idyllic farms and secluded places along the Reuss, through Wiler and Butzen to Amsteg. There you can expect to view the imposing train bridge across the river Chärstelen as well as the NEAT building site.

The return journey leads you along the dam track on the eastern side of the Reuss through Silenen and Ellbogen in a northerly direction. In Erstfeld the northern Gotthard mountain train route starts. You have the option to observe the various train compositions - a short detour to the panoramic tower and to the crocodile engine pays off! Back on the dam track you reach the picturesquely located Jagdmatt chapel – with the mountain Bristen in the background, it is a popular photo opportunity. From the Reuss bridge in Erstfeld you bike along the same route back to the starting point at the train station Altdorf.
