Bonaduzer Wald
Bonaduz–Bonaduz
This tour opens up to magnificent views of the imposing Rhine Gorge. From Bonaduz the route passes through beautiful forest paths into the Rhine Gorge and back again.
The starting point for this mountainbike tour is the village of Bonaduz, which forms a plateau with Rhäzüns. You can also enter the Rhine Gorge nature reserve from Bonaduz.
After making your way along the well-trodden forest trails across Bonaduz's idyllic forest landscape, you reach a little-travelled road offering spectacular views as it leads you to Sigl'Ault. You soon arrive to a narrow trail that descends smoothly to a road offering panoramic views over the Rhine Gorge. The «Ruinaulta», as the gorge is called in Romansh, is one of the most majestic and diverse landscapes in the Alps; it was created roughly 10,000 years ago as a result of a massive landslide. You follow it along, with a fabulously deep vertical view, past the «Zault» observation deck (photo stop recommended) before finally plunging back into the woods and going on leisurely forest trails back to Bonaduz.
