Champex Bike
Champex–Champex
This trail provides an introduction to the various special places to be found in Champex: the resort and the Lake, Champex d'en Haut and then Champex d'en Bas, before coming back to the lake for a circuit in the forest – all the elements that combine to make Champex known as Switzerland's «Little Canada».
The route starts in Champex, a village nestled around a magnificent Alpine lake. After a few metres, follow the lake and take the opportunity of admiring the Grand Combin - which peaks at more than 4400 metres - reflected in it! After a slight ascent at Aldray, you will be greeted by an exceptional view over the lake and the village.
Follow the river until you get to the two other villages that make up the resort - Champex d'en Haut and Champex d'en Bas, after which the route leads uphill through a magnificent larch forest.
Bike back down towards the lake, doing a circuit in the forest on the other side of the resort before heading north of the lake via the banks of a marsh, which is a protected site of national importance due to its scenic value and many rare animal and plant species.

Tours with an e-mountain bike
The tourism organisations had these routes registered specifically as e-mountain bike routes. Technically, they are not too difficult, no passages where the bike has to be carried, short sections where it needs to be pushed, and doable with one battery charge (max. 1000 -1200 m altitude difference).
