Bellerive outdoor pool in Lausanne
The Bellerive outdoor pool is situated in 7.5 hectares of grounds with a sun meadow. Facilities include a 50-metre pool; a separate diving tower; a 50 x 70 metre leisure pool; two themed splash pools and a 350-metre long beach with direct access to the lake and water park.
Since 1937 the Bellerive swimming pool in Lausanne has been synonymous with the dolce far niente. Since it was enlarged in the year 1964 under the auspices of the Swiss national exhibition (Expo 64), it has been an important meeting place for young and old and their families.
Its ideal situation on the shore of the lake, generously laid out green areas, three large pools and a 10-metre diving tower attract as many as 8000 people on very hot days. Bellerive does boast numerous attractions, including green meadows, basketball and beach volleyball courts, table tennis tables, leisure activities, refreshment stands and a restaurant with panoramic terrace offering views of the Alps. A minigolf course will also be found nearby.
