San Romerio
San Romerio is an alp at 1800 metres altitude above Lago di Poschiavo. Fantastic landscape and views over Val Poschiavo to Tirano.
San Romerio is located on a slope terrace, 800 m above the Lago di Poschiavo. The alp is reached in only 20 minutes by postbus from the Viano-Piaz bus station (from Brusio). The inn offers typical regional specialities as well as lovely views. Open from May to the end of October.
The mountain church of San Romerio, consecrated in 1106, stands on a steeply sloping rock face. In the 12th century this was also the site of the residence of the monks of the Humiliaten Order. Only three buildings now remain of their former hospice.
San Romerio is the starting point for a variety of mountain tours, including a guided tour to the Adlerhorst. Biking on mountain roads and high-altitude trails with spectacular views is sheer bliss.
