Taney

The hamlet of Taney is an idyllic spot with a tiny lake, set in a superb, protected landscape high above the Rhone Valley.
The summer village of Taney belongs to the municipal district of Vouvry. Travel to Miex-le Flon by public transport (postbus) and then hike over the 1440 m Col de Taney to reach the Lac de Taney with the village of the same name at its western end. This enchanting mountain lake nestles in an idyllic landscape with flower meadows, cliffs and dark woods. The lake is a spawning ground for amphibians, of national importance and seemingly without an outflow. Its banks are easily accessible and inviting for bathing, diving and fishing. The landscape is under a conservation order and has an incredible variety of flora and fauna.

Over this tower the impressive twin summits of the Jumelle and Grammont, with incomparable views of Lac Léman and its feeders.

Highlights

  • Idyllic protected landscape with particularly beautiful hiking and biking trails
  • Lac de Taney (fishing, diving, bathing)
