The sun-browned, wheat-storage barns known locally as 'Raccards' are typical of Valais. Together with the multitude of red geraniums, they represent the picturesque specialities of Grimentz. The Fifteenth Century Burgher's House (maison bourgeoisiale) is at the centre of village life. The emblematic charm of this village makes it both authentic and picturesque at its altitude of 1'570 metres.
