International Museum of the Reformation

International Museum of the Reformation

The history of the religious movement and the daily life in the 16th century in Geneva. The International Museum of the Reformation is located in the prestigious Mallet House, constructed in the 18th century; it lies at the heart of the Old Town and is close to Saint Peter’s Cathedral.
This location is highly symbolical, because it is where the Reformation was adopted by unanimous vote the 21st of May 1536.

The museum presents the history of the Reformation of which Jean Calvin was one of the initiators. Through objects and audio-visual techniques, it retraces the epic of this movement, which went forth from Geneva to become one of the great families of Christianity.

The museum is connected underground with the Archaeological Site located under the Cathedral and the Cour Saint Pierre square.
