International Red Cross Museum
The humanitarian adventure: The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum closely related to the name of Geneva, it is a unique place that highlights the universal concept of humanitarian action.
The exhibition is an adventure, initiating visitors into contemporary humanitarian action. Three separate areas, each developed by a well-known exhibition architect, allow you to explore three major challenges in today's world: Defending human dignity (Gringo Cardia, Brazil), Reconstructing the family link (Diébédo Francis Kéré, Burkina Faso) and Refusing fatality (Shigeru Ban, Japan).
An interactive chronology unfurls 150 years of humanitarian history, while Current focus enables you to track Red Cross and Red Crescent operations right around the globe.
The highlights are the 12 contemporary witnesses, that accompany the visitor, the archives of the International Prisoners of War Agency included in UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register and the game «Hurricane» to test the effectiveness of natural disaster preparedness activities.
