Thurwasserfälle Weg
Unterwasser–Wildhaus
The 23-metre high Thur waterfalls and the Gamplüt mountain station are the highlights of this route. Throughout the entire route there are wonderful places to barbecue sausages or enjoy the peaceful nature.
From the Unterwasser village centre, a 10 minute walk brings you to the Thur waterfalls. This natural spectacle can be observed from the riverside or from above. A tunnel in the rock face leads visitors to a height of 23 metres, where you can linger directly next to the source of the waterfall and experience the waters at first hand.
The route continues along the Säntisthur, over the Laui to the Älpli. This region provides various opportunities to spend time among nature next to the brook. The hike proceeds through the woods up to Alp Gamplüt, where you have a wonderful view of the opposite side of the valley and the Churfirsten.
Before descending to Wildhaus on the first solar-powered gondola lift, by scooter or on foot, you can treat yourself to a break in the Gamplüt mountain restaurant. The hike ends in Wildhaus, on the sunny side Toggenburg.
