Eschheimertalweg
Schaffhausen–Schaffhausen
This route leads from Schaffhausen up to the Jura heights. From there you follow a circular path into the Eschheimtal valley. The path is, sometimes wooded, sometimes lined by meadows and fields and will gladden the heart of anyone seeking tranquillity and relaxation.
The circular route starts in Schaffhausen. It's amazing how quickly you find yourself outside the built-up area in a tiny, forested side valley. Here you go up a hill, where the first thing you find is the Griesbach Equestrian Sport Complex. Shortly afterwards the route takes you along the edge of woodland before the first breathtaking views over open fields and meadows open up before you.
Further on, the route alternates between wooded areas and fields. There are several inviting rest areas to take a break and tank up on energy. In summer these are wonderful spots for a barbecue. The picturesque scenery and tranquillity on the whole tour will make you feel totally at one with nature.
The last section of the tour leads back along the same route. Once back in Schaffhausen, it will rapidly become apparent how relaxingly remote the last few hours have been. A wonderful feeling to take home with you.
