Lorenchopf-Weg

Through a ravine with erratic boulders up to the Adlisberg and the Zurich city residential areas with the best views.
In the lower part the brook has cut into the side moraine. Here is found the largest collection of erratic boulders in Canton Zurich: hundreds of irregular blocks from the Glarus Alps. Soon the trail leaves the ravine and climbs up through the residential areas of Pfaffhausen, then through the woods to the Lorenchopf at the east end of the Adlisberg. There is found a tower with a 360° view of the Glattal, the Zurich Oberland and the Alps.

At first flat, then slightly downhill, the trail goes further to the Hof Hinter Adlisberg. Once again in the woods, one comes out at the sports area near the zoo. Then comes a climb next to the cemetery on the border of the Zurichberg woodlands. There one leaves the hiking trail and follows along the woods, so as to enjoy the view of the city, lake and the Alps. One can understand why this sunny slope is known as the best residential area in Zurich. Above the «Rigiblick» one comes once again to a hiking trail leading to the cable car.
