Starting point for this walk is Morteratsch station (Rhaetian Railway). Highlights of the trip include the vegetation of the living glacier foreland, the marked Glacier Nature Trail with information about the retreat of the glacier, and the Chünetta viewpoint (Chünetta means «small cradle»).
Along the Glacier Nature Trail to the Morteratsch Glacier are 16 marked stopping points. Full information can be found in the German-language book «Lebendiges Gletschervorfeld». On the return leg, the Chünetta viewpoint lies right beside the trail, offering close-up views of the gigantic glacier fields and the mighty peaks.
