Emmenuferweg

There is plenty to discover on the trail along the «Kleine Emme» between Sörenberg and Emmenbrücke. The trail traverses the entire region, with a variety of information and superb views accompanying its varied passages.
The river landscapes on the «Emmenuferweg» are some of the most attractive in the canton of Lucerne. The fascinating trail starts at the source of the river in the heart of the UNESCO Entlebuch Biosphere and leads to Emmen on the outskirts of the city of Lucerne. The sound of the water in the streams and rivers is absolutely intoxicating, changing with every meter along the way little different.

The force of the water along the «Emmenuferweg» has formed impressive natural landmarks over the years. At times the river flows gently, while at other times its raging current moves boulders and undercuts the shore, creating habitats for flora and fauna. The 3-day hike, which can also be done in individual stages thanks to the ideal access to public transport, offers unique scenery, lovely views and a wealth of information along the way.
