Parcours de St-Ursanne

The route in and around the charming town of St-Ursanne in Canton Jura is a treat for history lovers. The captivating little town on the River Doubs has changed little over the centuries. It is impressive and well worth a visit.
The picturesque town on the Doubs where the river makes a sharp turn to the west has an air of mystery. The route starts at the railway station above the town and leads along the ridge of Mont Terri down to St-Ursanne.

From here the route continues through natural surrounding alongside the river. Many anglers are attracted to the Doubs because it's said to have the best river trout. You repeatedly catch glimpses of tiny St-Ursanne. The quaint old village consists of medieval buildings, narrow lanes, an impressive collegiate church, three beautiful town gates and a magnificent stone bridge.

The loop of the river seems to almost encircle the village The surroundings are marked by luxuriant greenery, magnificent trees and a rich variety of plants. From the four-arched bridge, you again have a stunning view of the river and the tiny, romantic town. It's well worth rounding off your tour by relaxing in St-Ursanne.
