This route starts in the lakeside town of Neuchâtel at the well-known Place Pury and leads to the Piscine du Nid-du-Crô swimming complex. The vibrant metropolis of Canton Neuenburg is combines natural beauty with a permanent holiday atmosphere.
At the beautifully set-out Place Pury, you can let your gaze sweep across the Neuenburgersee lake, the largest lake lying completely in Switzerland. From here the route leads a short distance through the town to the popular lakeside promenade. You then follow the lake shore and first discover the harbour from where passenger boats come and go.
The promenade, with its vibrant activity and many passers-by radiates an urbane atmosphere. Thanks to the its width, you can go on your way unhurried and unhindered. Well-tended areas of grass, park benches in shade, art works and flower beds adorn the way and offer plenty of choice and space to rest and take it easy.
Shortly after the famous Neuchâtel Xamax football stadium, you leave the crowds behind you and find yourself in a quiet harbour area with wonderful views of the shimmering, blue-green lake. The path leads directly to the end of the route at the Neuchâtel Piscines bus stop.

Neuchâtel railway station is a support station. Low-floor buses run from here (Route 9) to Station Neuchâtel, Place Pury. Another option is to take the Fun'ambule funicular, which leaves from the railway station to Station Neuchâtel, Université. From there, low-floor buses (Route 11) run between Neuchâtel, Place Pury and Neuchâtel, Piscines. The upper compartment of the funicular has a level entrance and exit.
Wheelchair-suitable parking spaces
Two official parking spaces for wheelchair users are located at Place de Pury 11 and Rue du Musée 9. These are both on the same street. Four parking spaces for wheelchair users are found at the Einkaufszentrum (shopping centre) and Stadion La Maladière Centre and others at the car park of the swimming pool, Piscine Nid-du-Crô.

The entire route is surfaced. At km0.5 is a 60-metre-long ramp with a 5% gradient down to the harbour.
Boarding / alighting possibility
At km0.7 is the Neuchâtel LNM boat station. From here boats sail across the whole of the Neuenburgersee lake as well as to the Murtensee and Bielersee lakes. Not all boats are wheelchair accessible. You can enquire a maximum of three days in advance about when wheelchair accessible boats are sailing.

At km2.2 you meet a 12m-long uphill gradient of 12%. No appreciable gradients follow.
WC car park du Pont
The du Port car park is found under the Place du Port. This can be accessed from the square with a lift, or with level access directly from the harbour. There you will find a Eurokey toilet. Restaurant Coop
A wheelchair-accessible toilet is located in the Coop restaurant at the La Maladière Centre. More restaurants and cafes are found in the same building. WC info: door width 85cm; movement area (DxB) 170x100cm; seat height 43cm; hand grips left fixed, right moveable; access right; mirror height 93cm; washbasin underside clearance 75cm. Another Eurokey toilet is located directly at the harbour, 300m before the bus station.
