The tour starts in Les-Mayens-de Sion, where you are soon on an easy path in magnificent airy forest. The historic River Bisse serves to irrigate the valley and is your faithful companion along the way. The path is lined by imposing spruce and larch which are particularly impressive testaments to time.
The route leads through the idyllic region above the valley. The beauty of the forest is not restricted to any one season. The tiny glades found from time to time, the pleasant silence of the forest and sudden open views of the wide valley floor with breathtaking mountain scenery in the background will bewitch every nature lover.
The path is mostly wide and repeatedly offers secluded picnic areas with splendid views, inviting you to take a break. Along the way you can also discover objects of art that are an exciting feature in the natural world. This relaxing idyll lasts the whole way back to Les-Mayens-de Sion.

Arrival from Sion support railway station is by postbus. This is equipped with a lift that must be operated by the chauffeur. Bookings for the bus must be made by the previous day, at Tel.+41 (0)58 386 95 00. The Les Mayens-de-Sion, Ouest bus stop should be chosen because leaving the bus there can be made without a cross fall.

From the bus stop, the route leads east towards houses that are visible from this point. The first few metres are on tarmac followed by a good unsurfaced path.
Rest area
You pass a picnic area with tables that are also suitable for wheelchair users, with an underside clearance of 75cm. The approaches from both sides have 10m sections with 10% uphill and downhill gradients respectively.
km0.9 - km1.4
From km0.9 - km1.4, the first few metres of the route are on an easily negotiable gravel path. The rest of the route is on tarmac. A traverse with wheel ruts in the upper section is found at km0.9. This has a 7% downhill gradient for a few metres.
Restaurant Relais des Mayens de Sion
The Restaurant Relais des Mayens de Sion is located directly on the route at km1.3. There is a 9cm step at the entrance followed by a 3cm step at the door. The entrance door is 92cm wide. The restaurant has no wheelchair-accessible WC.

km2.8 - km3.8
From the Les Mayens-de-Sion bus stop, the route leads west along the road in the opposite direction. There is no pedestrian crossing, however, visibility is good and crossing presents no problems. After the road follows a short descent of 7% over 5m. The unsurfaced stretch of this section is easily negotiable. There is a rest area with a table adapted for wheelchairs, underside height 75 cm.

This section of the route leads back the same way to the Les Mayens-de-Sion, Ouest bus stop.

Fom the Les Mayens-de-Sion, Ouest bus stop, the return to the Sion support railway station is made by a postbus with lift. Bookings for the bus must be made by the previous day at Tel.+41 (0)58 386 95 00.
