Via a l’En
Scuol Serras–Scuol, Sur En
The Innweg links Scuol and Sur En. Surrounded by an impressive mountain panorama, the route takes you past Engadine meadows before crossing to the other bank of the river and plunging into the forest. Your constant companion, thundering down from the mountains, is the mighty Inn river.
The starting point is the Serras bus stop in Scuol. The route begins on a tarmac path, which winds its way through the meadows on the left bank of the river. From here, you can enjoy a captivating panorama of mountains, meadows, forest and the rushing Inn river. The scenery changes in Pradella, where the route crosses to the other side of the river.
The right bank is forested. A nature trail takes you directly alongside the Inn river to Sur En. The fascinating surroundings switch back and forth between thick forest and light-dappled glades. One particular attraction is the scents of the forest, which, together with the roar of the river, create a unique experience. In summer, the trees offer a cool respite from the blazing Engadine sun.
Via a L’En means ‘the way of the Inn’. The river is the key feature of the trail. There are many different facets to this 500 km Alpine river, which rises in the Maloja Pass and flows into the Danube at Passau. There are resting places all along the route, all with breathtaking views. The gradient is also particularly pleasant; the route slopes steadily downhill and involves only a few short climbs.
