The route from Pontresina alongside the River Flaz to Beve is a real treat for the eyes. Surrounded by the majestic Engadin mountains and the wide, flower-filled valley, you follow alongside gently murmuring waters.
From the starting point in Pontresina, the route leads you through splendidly luxuriant and wide meadows with breathtaking views over this partly rugged region. The mountains make a majestic backdrop and the route leads through varied vegetation.
You soon reach Samedan and continue the route along the Flaz. On the banks of the river flowers and plants blossom in vibrant colour in the middle of the plain that holds the Engadin Airport. A gaze into the distance reveals a veritable sea of flowers in gently rolling countryside. You find yourself in quiet solitude. Even the river flows along quietly and contentedly.
The charm and authentic, wild nature of this peaceful region holds the promise of pleasant relaxation and peace. The next station is Bever, where you cross a bridge and pass yet more beautiful valley scenery before you reach the attractive village.

The journey to Pontresina is on the Albula line via Chur. Pontresina railway station is a support station.
Wheelchair-suitable parking spaces
Just below the railway station in Pontresina is a sports ground with a public, long-stay car park with a parking space for wheelchair users. Bever railway station also has a parking space for wheelchair users.

Wheelchair-accessible public WC at Pontresina railway station
The railway station in Pontresina has a wheelchair accessible public toilet. WC info: door width 80cm; movement area (DxB) 95x220cm; seat height 53cm; hand grips, left & right moveable; access right; mirror height 135cm; washbasin underside clearance 70cm.
km0 - km3,4
The first section of the route is mostly on a level, easily negotiable gravel path, except for the first 300m and a 1000m stretch at km2.4, which are surfaced. At km0.1 is a 40m downhill section with a 11% gradient and at km2.2 a 30m uphill section with a 6% gradient. At km2.4 follows a 40m downhill section with a 11% gradient. Before a surfaced section begins at km2.7 is a 20m uphill section with a 10% gradient to master. At km2.4 there is a barbecue area. The underpass at km3.0 has a 30m downhill section with an 13% gradient. At km3.3 is an underpass under the road and railway line with a 15m downhill section with a 6% gradient followed by a 10m long uphill section with a 15% gradient. This section has a large number of drainage channels (maximum width 11cm), running directly across the path.
km3.4 - km9.8
The second section of route is more level than the first and has fewer drainage channels to cross. Here too you'll find easily negotiable gravel paths except at km6.6 where the route past the camping site is surfaced for 300m and in Bever, where at km8.8 the route is surfaced as far as the railway station. At km6.3 is a 20m uphill section with a 6% gradient, followed at km7.2 by a 20m uphill section with a 9% gradient. At km7.7 is a 20 m uphill section with a 6% gradient. On reaching Bever you have a 40m uphill section with a 6% gradient at km8.5 and the last 30m uphill section with a 7% gradient at km9.4. There is a barbecue area on this section at km7.2 and km8.0.

The Camping Gravatscha has a wheelchair-accessible public toilet on the lower ground floor, reached via a ramp with a 16% downhill gradient. Low-floor buses operate from Bever railway station to the support railway stations at Samedan (Route 6) and Pontresina (Route 6 then change to Route 1 in Samedan). The return journey is made on the Albula line to the support railway station in Chur.
