The Canton Vaud holiday resort of Leysin, nestling on a terrace at 1200 m altitude above Aigle in the lower Rhone Valley. offers an attractive family holiday world in addition to the fabulous views of the Rhone Valley, Mont Blanc, Dents du Midi and Diablerets.
At one time known as a place of convalescence for lung patients because of its sunny, mild climate, Leysin at the foot of the Tour d'Aï, has developed into an all-year-round holiday resort since the opening of a Club Med holiday facility in 1950. The holiday resort in the Canton Vaud Alps is reached via Aigle by a 35- minute trip by cogwheel railway or by road via Le Sepey.
Families are welcome in Leysin: up to 9 years old, the children have preferential rates on the cable car and accommodation. The activities program includes the visit of farms, of a cheese dairy in a mountain pasture as well as an activity conceived especially for children.

The Enzian Park with its many medicinal plants is a reminder of the village’s earlier days as a health resort. The village museum and the La Fromagerie show dairy provide an insight into the traditions of mountain and Alpine farming.250 km of hiking trails, mountain trails and interesting bike tours promise plenty of exercise in the open air. Many climbing sites as well as two via ferrata are waiting for the climbers in the steep limestone cliffs. And you’ll need good brakes on the steep bike tour through the Tal der Grande Eau down to Aigle, the centre of the cycle sport world.

Skiers and snowboarders can get their kicks in the superb skiing area with its 17 skilifts and snow park with halfpipe or on ski tours or snowshoe treks. There you will also find a ski school, the Tobogganing park and its snow village. The nearby holiday resort of Les Mosses/La Lécherette offers a family-friendly skiing area and plenty of space for cross-country skiers.
