Malbun (FL)
Malbun is an alp belonging to the municipal district of Triesenberg. Behind a high mountain ridge, at an altitude of 1600 metres lies an attractive still untouched natural world as well as a ski region. A visit to the falconry is an exciting adventure.
The municipal district of Triesenberg was first settled by the Walsers in the 13th century. The Chapel of Peace was built on Alp Malbun in 1951 as a sign of gratitude that the country had been spared from war.
Malbun has a large hiking-trail network and countless mountain and biking tours through intact natural landscapes. Since 1961, the alp has also developed into a famous snow-sport region.
The falconry in Malbun is well worth a visit. Hawks, owls, eagle owls, ravens, buzzards, falcons, vultures and golden eagles are trained here and their flying skills can be admired in aerial shows. One special attraction is the possibility to make a tour with a trained hawk (after instruction) and thus experience the talented high-flier at close quarters. The same experience is also possible with a golden eagle but accompanied by an expert.
